Overview: The Youth Unemployment Project, implemented by SOGEDO Somaliland in partnership with Somaliland Riksförbund, is designed to achieve positive improvements in youth employment. The project focuses on addressing the root causes of migration from Africa by promoting local employment opportunities.

Project Goals: The primary goal of the project is to enhance youth employability by creating meaningful employment opportunities and addressing systemic challenges. To achieve this, the project focuses on the following intervention areas:

1. Increasing the influence of the target group within civil society.
2. Enhancing the capacity of youth to claim their rights and foster behavioral changes.

Progress Assessment: Based on the granted goal and risk matrix, the project has undertaken the following actions:

• Conducted workshops and training sessions to empower youth and amplify their influence in decision-making processes within civil society.
• Collaborated with local stakeholders to create pathways for sustainable employment opportunities.
• Implemented awareness campaigns to educate the target group on their rights and encourage active participation in societal development.

Achievements:

1. Increased Civil Society Influence:
   • Youth have participated in policy discussions and community forums.
   • Representation of youth in local governance structures has improved.
2. Capacity Building:
   • Over 500 young individuals received vocational training tailored to market demands.
